Eye Exams

Our doctors of Optometry provide comprehensive eye exams for glasses and contact lenses at an affordable cost. They also routinely screen for glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetic eye complications, retinal disorders, and multiple other ocular conditions. Our doctors provide a thorough and professional eye exam that can help get to the bottom of any eye care concerns. If you are having any eye related issues, our expert staff can certainly help you get some answers.

Eye exams don’t have to be complicated

We employ several different types of equipment to perform your eye exam. Our equipment employs the most up to date technologies to help us perform comprehensive eye exams while still being comfortable for our patients. In order provide a detailed analysis of your current eye health, we take visual acuities, perform color vision, depth perception, and binocular testing to ensure a clear overview concerning any issues with your eyesight. We also examine the external ocular surface and internal ocular region. We do in-depth, thorough refractions to obtain the most accurate prescription for you, whether it is for glasses or contact lenses.

Contact lens exams

Contact lens examinations are performed in addition to the eyeglass examination. Our doctors must take into account many different variables to prescribe the right contact lens for you. For new wearers, or patients who need a refresher course on how to insert, remove and care for their lenses, we include a one-on-one training session. Follow-up visits to fine-tune your fit and vision with contact lenses are included in the contact lens exam.

We fit a wide variety of contact lenses, including: spherical, toric, bifocal, and rigid gas permeable lenses.
Our preferred contact lenses are Proclear® One Day lenses. Ask us if you can wear them!

Biomicroscope

The Biomicroscope is used to examine the external ocular surface, as well as some of the inner parts of the eye. We use it to diagnose certain eye diseases, as well as fit contact lenses and check for contact lens complications.

keratometer.jpg

Keratometer

The Keratometer measures the curvature of the cornea. We use this information to fit contact lenses, as well as monitor changes in the curvature that could result from corneal disease or contact lens over wear. This is performed at every contact lens exam.

Tonometers

The Tonometers shown are just two examples of instruments we use to check your eye pressure, or intraocular pressure, as we call it. Eye pressure measurements are taken to screen for glaucoma. Patients are evaluated for glaucoma at each comprehensive eye exam.

Fundus Lenses

Fundus lenses, in conjunction with several other instruments, are used to examine the retina and optic nerve. The 20D lens provides a wide view of the retina enabling us to screen for many types of retinal disorders. The 78D lens provides a magnified view of the optic nerve head, macula, and other structures.
